5yo/Male/Malay
1. Come to IIUM Optometry Clinic as referred from IIUM Eye Specialist Clinic (ORC) and have been diagnosed to has left eye exotropia.
2. He has no complaint of blurry vision or headache. However, recently, his teachers complain of his decreasing performance in class. The parents realized that their son has left eye deviated out since birth.
3. He had born full term birth and generally healthy. Has sinusitis but not on any medication. He has no ocular trauma, injury or surgery.
4. Besides that, there are two of his sisters wearing spectacle and the parents reveal that there is history of tropia in the big family in the mother’s side

LE Basic Exotropia associated with refractive ambyopia
PLAN AND MANAGEMENT
1. Prescribe spectacle correction
2. TCA 1/12 (for follow up of improvement in VA and comfortness of patient with prescribed spectacle)

1) prescribe Rx without cyclo eh?
2) possible ke treatment amblyopia with such large XT?

ReplyDelete1) this patient is referred from ORC and he already had done the cyclo & post-cyclo before this. the referred letter already stated all the findings. so then, we jus redo the post-cyclo and the result is like on the table above :D
However, I think since this patient is having exotropia, we actually doesn't need to do cyclo rite? huhu
2) the treatment is possible if the patient follow the management given. but i'm not 100% guarantee the ablyopia will recover. hehe 8-}
we diagnose this patient as basic XT since PCT with/without at distance and near reveal the same degree which is 60prism diopter BI.Am i correct,naim,zana n farah?..for the reduction of AA,the care will be taken after the VA is normalize and equalize..now, our main concern is all about the VA...huhuhu..=)
