There are two ways to explain how does movement of retinoscope reflex happens. 1) aerial image-blurred image orientation/ position on retinoscopist's retina, 2) Secondary Source-Far point location , MR. Always remember 1) the aerial image will be located either in front of or at behind examiner's eye, and 2) the Far point, MR will be located either in front of or at behind patient's eye.

2 A.False when K approaches -W,the speed factor in increase until its infinite..infinite not same with zero..neutralisation cannot occur at zero..
ReplyDeleteB.False because when speed factor is minus, myopic occur not neutralisation.
C.False bcos neutralisation occur when artificial far point coincide at sight hole plane.
D.False bcos without WD lens,it will induce more hyprope so it will move with movement, slow and dull..
E.True ..bright colour can be seen on patients retina.
its myopic since its axial length is bigger than 22.22mm.but the curvature power is about 57..so we know its hyperope bcos its under 60 ..can u see that it give +2D = 2/3m..normally we use +2D for 50 cm and +1.5D for 2/3m..now we have +0.5 excess for distance 2/3m..+0.5 excess will induce the myopic power from -3 to -3.5..so conclusion is its myopic..this from what i understand..
3 A.False because its type of ametropia is myopic so its against movement.
B.True since its myopic
C.False ..its not neutral.its myopic
D.False there is no movement except 180 and 90 meridian..
E.false no transverse can be seen..

ReplyDeletefor question no 1:
A- true because the eye has been neutralised by the working distance lens, so against movement can be detected since it is hyperope.
B-false because it supposed with movement since the hyperope has been induced.
C-true because it is with movement and can be considered as over with movement since without working distance lens(from the formula), it will induce hyperope.
D-false because from the formula it should be no movement.
E-false because the scissors movement can be seen at 90.
question 2:
A-true because speed factor=0 indicates no movement=achieve neutralization point.
B-false because it is indicate that there is still movement which is against movement since minus sign.
C-false because neutralization point achieved when artificial far point coincide at sight hole.
D-true because from the formula power of the eye=power of ret-working distance,we will get 0 or plano which means neutralization point.
E-true because no movement of reflex=neutralization point.
question 3:
A-false because the axial length is more than normal(22.22mmm)which has indicate it is myopic.
B-true because same reason with A and there is still minus power after refraction which means it is myopic.

ReplyDeleteA. false - power at 90 degree is (plano) as the WDL=+2.00d..n 180 degree bcomes +2.00d. it indicates the with movement.
B. true - bcoz..power at 180 degree is +2.00d , WDL neutralizes the vergence of working distance..so no reflex is movement is observe at 90 degree
C. False - false, bcoz power at 90 degree is -2.00d , so it indicates against movement..both power n vergences are cancelled each another...
D. False - power at 90 degree is -2d...no movement at 180 degree.
E. False -scissor movement only exists in oblique astig
Q2
A.false because to achieve the neutralization,K=-W. So,when substitute into the equation, speed factor= W/W+K we will get infinity, not zero.so there should be no movement.

ReplyDelete1.
A.-FALSE-there is power of +2D,
B.-TRUE-it is plano, that have no power, no movement
C.-TRUE-the lens is removed, so, at 90o there is power of -2D, so, hyperope, with movement
D.-FALSE-the lens is removed, so, at 180° there is plano, that have no power, it should be no movement
E.–FALSE-as reason D. scissors movement have movement those are not “neutral”, “with” or “against”
2.
A.–TRUE-if PLUS sign indicates WITH movement and MINUS sign indicates AGAINST movement, speed factor is zero indicates NO movement that is reach neutralization point.
B.–FALSE-minus sign of the speed factor indicates AGAINST movement, not NO movement. So, neutralization point is not achieve.
C.–FALSE-the correct sentence is actually ‘when artificial far point coincide at the EXAMINER’s corneal plane’
D.–FALSE-The eye is having myopic eye. So, against movement is detected. It is not reach neutralization point.
E.–TRUE-neutralization point is reach when there is no movement
3.
working distance lens, WDL= 1/wd
WDL= 1/2/3
= +1.5D,
-this calculation mean that, WDL that should be used by the examiner to put in front of patient’s eye is +1.5 D, but the question used +2D. So, the power is higher +0.5D than it should be. When it is so, the retinal image formed at patient’s eye is in front of the retina. The eye is having myope. As examiner shines the light on patient’s eye in the vertical position and moves the light, the image reflex appeared to opposite the direction. It is called AGAINST movement. So, to correct this by using minus lens.
A.-FALSE-the eye is having myopic eye. So, AGAINST movement is observed, not WITH movement.
B.–TRUE- the retinal image formed at patient’s eye is in front of the retina. The eye is having myope. So, it is having AGAINST movement.
C.-FALSE-the eye is having myopic eye. So, AGAINST movement is observed not NO movement.
D.-FALSE-the eye is having myopic eye. So, AGAINST movement is observed, not SCISSORS movement.
E.-FALSE-the eye is having myopic eye. So, not TRANSVERSE movement is observed.

C)FALSE-without working distance lens...at 90,power is -2.00D....so,against movement..
D)FALSE-without working distance lense...at 180,no power(plano)...so,no movement
E)FALSE-scissors movement can only be founded in astigmatism...at axis other than 90& 180
QUESTION 2
A)FALSE-neutralization is achieved when K=-W...substitute into equation,speed factor=W/W+K...we will get infinity...not zero,ok..
B)FALSE-minus sign..against mvmnt..it should be no movement when the neutralization is achieved..
C)FALSE-artificial far point should be cross in the sight-hole plane..
D)FALSE-by using working distance lenses the neutralization might occur..
E)TRUE- when the neutralization is achieved...no movement...
QUESTION 3
A)false-it's myopic...against mvmnt..
B)true-it's myopic..ocular refraction...-ve power...
C)false-should be against movmnt
D)false-should be against movement...that movemnt only for astigmatism
E)false- should be against..that movemnt only for astigmatism movement
Assalamualaikum...
ReplyDeleteQUESTION 1
a)FALSE.. bcoz at 180 degree, the power is +2D thus with mvment
b)TRUE...bcoz at 90 degree, the power is plano.Working distance lens cancelled power that existed with the working distances
c)FALSE...bcoz without working distance lens, the power is -2D in 90 degree
d)FALSE...without w.d.lens, power in 180 degree (+2D) become plano bcoz it is cancelled with -2D from the w.distances
e)FALSE...bcoz scissor is neither with nor without movement. In this case, there is with movement when power is +2D at 180 degree
** i'm quite confusing with the
+2 and -2 value..please correct me if i'm wrong..
QUESTION 2
a)TRUE...if speed factor =-ve, against movement. if speed factor =+ve, with movement..therefore, if speed factor =0, neutrality is achieved
b)FALSE..minus sign of speed factor indicates against movement in myopic eye
c)FALSE...neutrality achieved when far point of the patient's eye coincide with the cornea of the examiner's eye
d)FALSE..with no working distance lens in place b4 the patient's eye, the reflected rays of light will be converged in myope
e)TRUE..patient's pupil is filled with light, no motion is observed when neutrality is achieved
QUESTION 3
-standard reduced eyes axial length = +22.22mm
-in this case, +23.22mm, extra +1mm
-1mm change in axial length of eye corresponds to +2.7D or +3D of refractive power-patient's having axial myopic
-working distance 2/3m = +1.5D but used working distance lens is +2D thus extra +0.5D
-eyes will have +3.5D power..
-therefore,eye is myopic, thus against movement
a)FALSE..eye is myopic, thus against movement
b)TRUE..eye is myopic, thus against movement
c)FALSE..have movement
d)FALSE..scissor is neither against nor with movement..but in this case, it's against movement
e)FALSE..never heard about transverse movement.is it exist??
Question 1:
ReplyDeleteA. false - after adding and cancel each other with WDL=+2.00D n vergence=+2.00D,power at 90 degree is (plano)n 180 degree becomes +2.00D.indicates the with movement.
B. true - WdL neutralized with vergence of working distance makes the 90 degree become plano= no movement occur
C. False - false, bcoz power at 90 degree is -2.00D , so it indicates against movement..both power n vergences are cancelled each another...
D. False -without WDL,no movement occur at 180 degree(plano)
E. False -scissor movement only exists in oblique astig thus,no scissors movement occur because power at 180 is plano without working distance lens.
Question 2:
A.false because to achieve the neutralization,K=-W. So,when substitute into the equation, speed factor= W/W+K we will get infinity, not zero.there should be no movement.
B.false coz minus sign is refers to against movement
c.false coz the neutralization achieved when the far point is coincide at sight hole plane
D.false-without using working distance lens, the eyes will accommodate and produce power.
E.true because no movement occur when neutrality is achieved.
Question 3:
A.false-when it take account of WDL and vergence..so it have induced the hyperope to myope. so,it should be against movement..
B.true- coz it is myopic, cancellation between vergence and power produced excess +0.5D makes myopic become greater from -3 to -3.5D(from the differences of K) ..
C.false.because there should be against movement
D & E-both false...they are not form in axis of 180 n 90 degree...so there is neither transverse nor scissor movement.

Question no. 1
A:FALSE,power at 180 degree is +2D,therefore it is with movement
B:TRUE, plano at 90 degree which means that there is no movement at 90 degree.
C:FALSE,without working distance lense, the power at 90 degree should be -2D. Thus, it indicate as against movement.
D:FALSE,the power at 180 degree without working distance lense should be plano. Thus, it indicate as no movement.
E:FALSE,scissors movement is only for astigmatism patient. Both meridian should include power. Without working distance lense, power at 180 degree is -2D while it is plano at 90 degree. Therefore, scissors movement cannot be observed.
Question no. 2
A:TRUE,according to speed factor formula:W/(W+K),when speed factor is zero, then, there is no working distance, thus, shows no movement.
B:FALSE,minus sign shows against movement, that is myope.so,no neutralization point is achieved.
C:FALSE,to achieved neutralization point, the artificial far point should be coincide at examiner’s corneal plane.
D:FALSE,because +2D indicate myopia. So, there will be against movement and can’t achieve neutral point.
E:TRUE,no movement is detected at neutralization point.
Question no. 3
The normal axial length is k’=22.22mm for working distance lens +1.5D at 2/3m. Therefore, when the axial length is more than the normal which is k’=23.22mm, the working distance lens of +2D is not enough to neutralize the refraction. Thus, the patient is indicated as myopia.
A:FALSE,this movement is for hyperope patient.
B:TRUE,this movement is for myope patient.
C:FALSE,this movement is for emmetropia patient.
D:FALSE,this movement for astigmatism patient.
E:FALSE,no tranverse movement.
